In 1998, Sanders released his autobiography: Power, Money & Sex: How Success Almost Ruined My Life. The book details his failed marriage, depression, and his two attempted suicides. He is now a born-again Christian and centers his life around religion as a very active member of the Potters House Church of Dallas.
In 1999, Sanders married model/actress Pilar Biggers. Sanders is a devoted father and has two teenage children from a previous marriage, and three young children with Pilar. Sanders lives in a small town called Prosper, Texas, which is outside of Dallas, in a custom built mansion.
In addition to his duties for the NFL Network, Sanders mentors many young professional and collegiate athletes on how to succeed on and off the field, and is a role model to many. Sanders has also founded, and is involved with, many charitable organizations aimed at changing people’s lives including the Dallas based program “Sanders Claus”, and a summer youth program called “Prime Time Achievers”.
