CAPTURED UNSOLVED 125
JENNA NIELSEN, 22
In the spring of 2007, Jenna Nielsen took on a job with USA Today to deliver newspapers. With two young sons and a third child on the way, Jenna and her husband could use the extra money. But in the early morning hours of June 14, Jenna was stabbed to death while working her delivery route on Lake Wheeler Road in Raleigh, North Carolina. A passerby noticed her car with its lights on, door open, and newspapers scattered on the ground. He called 911. When police arrived, they found Jenna's lifeless body behind a convenience store.
Detectives recovered a knife near the crime scene as well as other potential evidence that has not been released. Detectives have not said if the knife was the murder weapon.
Detectives believe this was a random attack.
Police have released a sketch of a man they say was at the crime scene during the early morning hours of June 14, 2007. They have not called him a suspect; they believe he may have information that would help their investigation.
Jenna was eight months pregnant at the time of her death.
There is a $15,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who killed Jenna.
