A manhunt continues for a man suspected of killing four people, including a 7-year-old boy in an Ohio trailer home. A fifth person was injured nearby.
Aaron Lawson, 23, has been called a “person of interest” by police. On Thursday, deputies found Lawson 15 miles south of the murder scene. Lawson fled police and crashed his pickup truck into a ditch before running into a wooded area. According to the International Business Times, he is wanted for aggravated murder.
On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office cancelled missing child alert for 7-year-old Devin Holston. The child was found dead in a “hidden” section of the home, according to CBS News.
"We no longer have a missing child, what we have here is a horrible, horrible tragedy," Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless said, adding that the crime scene spread across the whole home.
"The entire residence is a crime scene. There’s things that happened in every room of that residence, so they were taking each room one room at a time and working their way through, doing a methodical search of the rooms," Lawless said. "That may have delayed them finding him once they got in there and started searching that room completely."
The boy was fatally shot. Three other adults were also found in the home, all victims of gun violence. Another adult was found stabbed in the neck and head in another home, about a quarter mile away. He has been flown to West Virginia for medical care. He is now in stable condition.
Lawson is 5-foot-9, weighing approximately 139 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes, The News Center reported.
"We’re confident we will find him," Lawless told a local ABC affiliate. "We’re not going to stop until we do."
No other adults in this case have been identified.
