At Least 2 Malls Across America Shut Down After Brawls, Shots Fired During Black Friday Sales

Video captured the chaos.

Just hours after giving thanks for what they already have, shoppers across the country participated in violence to save money on Black Friday deals.

One person was shot outside a mall in Columbia, Missouri on Thursday night. A 19-year-old, who has not been identified, suffered life-threatening injuries after being shot in the parking, according to KMIZ. Police are unsure if the shooting was accidental or deliberate but it appears to have occurred after a man tried to holster a gun on himself. The mall shut down temporarily after the shooting.

Brawls broke out in a shopping center in Hoover, Alabama, not far from Birmingham which also resulted in a temporary shutdown.

Al.com reports that one person was treated for injuries. Cell phone video posted on Facebook showed women fighting and overall chaos in a store.

To prep for Black Friday, people reportedly attempted to sell store uniforms to shoppers who want to skip lines, or to even rob establishments.

One person tweeted pictures of a Walmart vest, writing: ā€œIā€™m selling this Walmart vest for $100. Use it to skip the line during Black Friday. You can even walk in, grab what you want, and walk out.ā€
