Demi Moore Was Sued After A Man Drowned In Her Pool

Moore was not home at the time of the drowning.

Actress Demi Moore was sued over the 2015 death of a man who drowned in her pool, People reported.

Edenilson Steven Valle, 21, was found dead at the bottom of Moore’s pool after a July 2015 party, after which the Ghost actress said she was “in absolute shock.”

No foul play was suspected in the incident. But Valle’s parents, Jorge and Maria, added Moore to a lawsuit that included Tree House Trust, the company which owns the property, as well as Moore’s personal assistant and a friend who helped with the party.

The Valle family claims that Moore did not place depth markers near the “excessively deep” pool, which they also claimed was at a “dangerously high” temperature of 101 degrees at the time of Valle’s death.

They also claim in the lawsuit that the rocks near the pool’s edge were a hazard, and that alcohol provided by the party may have resulted in their son’s death.

Valle had told other party members that he didn’t know how to swim, and allegedly fell in the pool after other guests left, TMZ reported. Moore was not home at the time of the incident.

“I was out of the country traveling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got this devastating news,” Moore told People at the time. “The loss of a child is an unthinkable tragedy, and my heart goes out to this young man’s family and friends.”
