Former Boy Scouts Den Mom Arrested On Child Porn Charges

Charges not connected to boys she supervised

A former Boy Scouts den mother has been arrested on charges of child pornography. According to WMC Action News38-year-old Christina McCafferty of Marion, Arkansas is charged with sexual indecency with a child and computer child pornography.

McCafferty is a former den mother for the Scouts in Marion, Arkansas chapter. None of the charges are related to boys she supervised. WREG spoke with a man who said he did boy scout training with McCafferty and claimed to know of at least two potential victims.

“She has been removed from scouting quite some time ago,” said Scout Executive Richard Fisher. “It's our understanding that this incident has nothing to do with the Boy Scouts.” Scout Leader Jason Goodbar adds that McCafferty was removed from her role as a den leader over than three months ago. Fisher did not explain whether the removal was due to the crime charges. “We have the most comprehensive youth protection training in the country and we are continuously evaluating our program and looking for ways to advance it to keep youth safe."

Apparently, investigators learned of McCafferty's connections to the Scouts through an anonymous tip.
