Here Are The Most Memorable O.J. Simpson Quotes From His Parole Hearing

"I've never been accused of pulling a weapon on anyone in my life."

By Gina Tron

Four parole board members watched and listened to O.J. Simpson speak via video-conference from prison during his parole hearing on Thursday. He made his case for the 2007 robbery that landed him behind bars. On the night of September 13, 2007, Simpson and a group of men entered a room in the Palace Station hotel of Las Vegas, Nevada. Sports memorabilia dealer Bruce Fromong testified that they broke into his hotel room and stole sports memorabilia at gunpoint. Simpson, 70, is approaching the 9-year minimum of his 33-year sentence for that crime. He could be out of jail as early as this fall.

He spoke and answered questions for about 40 minutes to the parole board members with an attorney by his side. Here are some of the most memorable quotes from the hearing:

1.“I’ve basically lived a conflict-free life.”

2.“I thought I was a good guy. I had some problems with fidelity in my life (laughs) but I’ve pretty much been a guy who has gotten along with everybody.”

3."I've never been accused of pulling a weapon on anyone in my life."

4."I'm not a guy who has lived a criminal life. I have been a straight shooter."

5.“I was always a good guy, but I could have been a better Christian.”

6.“If I was to take that alcohol course it would be more for my children, for them if they ever had a problem."

7.“My reputation is that I’ve always been open to the public, open to everybody.”

8.“I believe in the jury system.”

9."I would never steal from anybody and I would never ever pull a weapon on anybody."

10."Believe it or not, I do have some real friends.”

Some of the original jurors who acquitted O.J. at his double murder trial will be featured in Oxygen¹s "The Jury Speaks: O.J. Simpson," premiering Saturday, July 22 at 9/8c.
