Man Accused Of Raping 88-Year-Old May Be Serial Rapist

Prosecutors believe he targets elderly women.

A young Texas man has been charged with raping and beating an elderly woman at a senior living center in Houston. Prosecutors believe he may be a serial rapist.

Justin Glenn Ellis, 21, faces up to life in prison according to ABC7. On Tuesday, he was arrested at a senior living complex after allegedly assaulting an 88-year-old victim, according to Chron. Ellis is believed to have attacked her as she lay in bed watching television. She fought back, and he allegedly threw her back onto the bed and tore her clothes. He also allegedly tried to smother her with a pillow. Police believe the suspect likely crept in through an open window in the bathroom.

"He is a suspect in several other crimes involving the same sort of circumstances," said prosecutor Kristina Roberts in the Chron report. She believes he may target elderly women.

Ellis has at least two dozen other mug shots on file with the Texas Department of Public Safety dating back to 2009: many are for trespassing. One arrest is for a terroristic threat.

He is being held in the Harris County Jail on $200,000 bail.

Anyone with any information about Ellis is urged to contact the Houston Police Department's Adult Sex Crime Division at 713-308-1180 or the Harris County District Attorney's Office's Sex Crimes Unit at 713-274-0150.
