Mischa Barton Blocks Release of Ex's Alleged Revenge Porn

Ex ordered to stay away from actress

Mischa Barton has won a court ruling to stop her ex boyfriend from attempting to sell sex tapes of her. The actress was in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday for a hearing to fight her ex's possession and distribution of alleged revenge porn.

“COURT VICTORY today with Mischa Barton,” Lisa Bloom, Barton's lawyer, shared on social media. “Distribution of the explicit images banned, ex stays 100 yards away forever.”

In March, Barton held a press conference and called the situation "painful" and a "trying time." The ex was apparently a "brief relationship" but someone she did love. She said, "I learned that someone I thought I loved and trusted was filming my most intimate and private moments, without my consent, with hidden cameras. Then I learned something even worse: that someone is trying to sell these videos and make them public."

The actress has called her former partner "emotionally abusive" on Dr. Phil. She says that she found out that a sex tape of hers was being shopped around when a stranger came up to her on the street with the news. At the time, she didn't believe it because she loved him.

"We went into court and obtained court orders barring anyone from trafficking in images like this of Mischa...Today we have won an important agreement which permanently blocks the dissemination of these images," Bloom shared in a statement with People. "Mischa wants everyone to know that we have the right to control our own bodies and decide whether or not to have explicit photos out there for the world to see. If a woman wants to do that, fine. If she doesn’t, fine. The choice is hers and hers alone.”
