Photo Of Mom's Horrific Car Accident Goes Viral For Important Message On Child Safety

"THIS is why you buckle your kids into their car seats.”

A mother in Pennsylvania mother shared a photo of the aftermath of a car crash she was in, in hopes of encouraging other parents to buckle up their children.

Jenna Casado Rabberman posted a photo on Facebook of her damaged 2015 Honda CRV.

"THIS is why you buckle your kids into their car seats correctly every SINGLE time. Even when they scream because the straps are tight. Even when they complain about the chest clip or being rear facing,” the mother wrote.

CBS Pittsburgh reports that Rabberman and her children were driving home from preschool when another car hit them. She credits the Chicco and Graco car seats for saving the lives of her two children: a 2-year-old boy and and a 6-weeks old boy. Paramedics reportedly told her that the accident could have been worse if she didn’t make sure her sons were buckled in securely. The car was totalled, but Rabberman’s children were unscathed in the accident.

The Facebook post has gone viral, and has been shared over 268,000 times.

Rabberman told ABC News that overall she’s a "pretty relaxed parent." But, not with car seat safety.

"I feel like it's such an easy thing that I can do to keep them safe," she said. "I know that I would never be able to forgive myself if anything happened to my children because I didn't take the time to do something so simple to protect them. I don't think any parent could live with that."

She encourages all parents to take car seat safety very seriously.

"I debated on sharing this photo but decided that if I could make one person think twice about buckling their child in, then our accident would have a purpose."
