Science Teacher Indicted For Secretly Videotaping Students Undressing

He admitted to it, but claimed the recordings were "of activities for the students to watch and learn."

A Carrollton high school teacher has been indicted for secretly recording students undress.

George Edwin Thomas III, 54, faces six charges of invasive visual recording, according to CBS Dallas Fort-Worth.

Police said Thomas, who taught a science class at the school, recorded at least six female students undressing without their knowledge during the 2015-2016 school year.

According to the report, Thomas’ girlfriend found the videos on a thumb drive and gave them to police. It contained "multiple video recordings of teenage girls disrobing in a closet," according to Chron.

Student Perla Martinez told CBS11 in March, “I would hear my friends saying that, they were like, something about this teacher doesn’t seem right because he was just a little bit off. Sometimes he would seem weird around girls.”

Senior Josh Placeres said when Thomas was his track coach, he would often hear from female athletes that Thomas would have them change clothes in his classroom.

Thomas "admitted that he recorded videos on his phone in class, but the recordings were of activities for the students to watch and learn," according to Carrollton police documents.
