Teacher Indicted On 14 Sexual Assault Charges For Sex With Student Who Tried To Commit Suicide

The student said he was in love with her.

A married former teacher from Maine was indicted Tuesday on 14 sexual assault charges. Jill Lamontagne, 29, allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old boy. The teen was her health class student when Lamontagne still taught at Kennebunk High School.

“The indictment was the culmination of an investigation into a relationship Lamontagne allegedly had with a juvenile, male student while she was a teacher at the school,” Kennebunk Deputy Chief of Police Michael Nugent said Wednesday, the Seacoast Online reports.

An abuse order stated the teen was hospitalized following a suspected suicide attempt after he ingested ibuprofen, Tylenol, cold medicine and the blood thinner Warfarin, according to the Portland Press Herald. A day after the attempted overdose, the boy told his aunt about the sexual contact between him and his former teacher. He allegedly confessed that he and Lamontagne had sex “numerous times, in the classroom, at her house, in her car,” the student’s mother wrote in an abuse report. The report accuses Lamontagne of performing oral sex on the teen. The student allegedly told his mom, and a nurse at the hospital, that he was in love with Lamontagne, Seacoast reports.

Lamontagne is married has has two children, according to court records. However, she allegedly told the victim that she hasn’t had sex in two years.

The ex-teacher turned herself into authorities after she was indicted on six counts of gross sexual assault, two counts of unlawful sexual contact and six counts of abuse of a minor. She was placed on administrative leave back in June when the school found out about the accusations. Lamontagne resigned from her position in September.
