Teen Who Killed Boyfriend In Youtube Prank Also Shot Video While Driving Pregnant With No Seatbelt

The couple wanted to be famous.

A pregnant Minnesota teenager was arrested Monday night after fatally shooting her boyfriend while recording a YouTube stunt. Monalisa Perez, 19, called 911 and told police she accidentally shot 22-year-old Pedro Ruiz in the chest. Their 3-year-old witnessed the shooting. Perez told police that Ruiz wanted to make a video of her shooting a book as he held it, according to Buzzfeed. She claimed he believed the book would stop a bullet, according to a criminal complaint.

The couple wanted to become Youtube stars and have uploaded multiple other prank videos to their Youtube channel. In one, Perez can be seen driving a car while pregnant, with her child in the back seat. She is recording video for her Youtube channel and she doesn’t appear to be wearing a seatbelt. That caught the attention of several Youtube commenters.

The couple’s prank videos usually contained innocent tricks, such as Perez giving Ruiz a donut covered in baby powder.

Another recording features the pair pulling stunts at a fair. In that video Perez gushes about their future in Youtube videos.

“Imagine when we have 300,000 subscribers,” she said.

Ruiz responded that the bigger they get the more parties they will throw.
