A 2-year-old girl froze to death on a porch in Akron, Ohio on Friday afternoon. The 911 call from Wynter Parker’s mother detailed the panic and anguish.

“She’s frozen! She’s frozen!”

The 911 operator walked the mother CPR techniques, which the mother tried and followed directions until the paramedics arrived. However, it was too late. According to the Akron Beacon Journal, Parker was pronounced dead shortly after.

Police believe the mother returned home from running errands with her son to find her daughter frozen on the porch. Parker’s dad was home with the child but he had fallen asleep on a chair. He works a night shift job. According to police, the girl must have wandered outside in 12 to 19-degree weather. Fox8 reports that the toddler wasn’t wearing a hat or gloves.

According to the medical examiner, Parker suffered severe hypothermia but an official cause of death has not been determined.

No charges have been filed.

"Obviously, this is still under investigation to see if there is any wrong doing on behalf of the parents," Lt. Rick Edwards said, according to Fox8. “We need to follow up with neighbors, we need to look at past history. We need to look at the parents to see what their participation or nonparticipation was. We are awaiting results from the medical examiner's office. So there is a lot to tidy up, in this case, to find out what actually happened."

A GoFundMe has been set up for her family.
