It is unclear if the shooter was a student.

There was a deadly shooting at Aztec High School in Aztec, New Mexico on Thursday. The Associated Press and New Mexico State Police confirmed that two students and the shooter are dead. It is not clear if the shooter, however, was a student. San Juan Sheriff's Office Captain Brice Current said the deceased students’ families have been contacted and notified, according to the Farmington Daily Times.

According to The Washington Post, state police have stated that there are no other reported injuries.

"Aztec High School is locked down and being evacuated," the San Juan County Sheriff's Department Facebook page said in a post. "Please avoid the area."

Students were taken to a nearby park where their parents could pick them up.

The FBI and New Mexico state police are now investigating the shooting.
