12-Year-Old Girl Opens Fire On Students In Los Angeles Middle School Shooting, Injuring 2

A 15-year-old boy, who was shot in the head, is in critical condition.

Two students were shot inside a classroom in Los Angeles on Thursday morning, and now the female suspect, a 12-year-old student, is in custody, reported CNN. According to The Los Angeles Times, the shooting happened at Sal Castro Middle School, which is on the same campus as Belmont High School. 

A 15-year-old female was reportedly shot in the wrist, and a 15-year-old boy was shot in the head. According to the Associated Press, he is in critical condition. Three others suffered minor injuries, Capt. Erik Scott with the Los Angeles Fire Department told the Los Angeles Times. According to NBC News, the injured are a 30-year-old woman, an 11-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl. Scott said injuries include minor abrasions from glass.

A student is now in custody, and she is believed to be the shooter. 

This school shooting marks the 12th one in the US in 2018.
