I couldn't be happier about my weight loss this week.

Being a mom with 2 kids, I am used to hosting all kinds of parties. When I found out that we were going to host a bbq, I thought, it is going to be a lot of work for all of us because of rehearsals and workouts but I have faith that we can pull it off. I think that we are forming such a family bond with each other that we will be able to throw a GREAT party. The one thing that I am not so thrilled about is having to parade around in a bathing suit. Believe me when I say I am all for the summer backyard parties, BUT, I don't feel comfortable enough to be wearing a bathing suit.

I come from family that LOVES bbq's, and when we throw a bbq you had better believe that we have all the trimmings!!! From hamburgers and hot dogs to Italian sausage, crabs, baked beans, bbq steaks, corn on the cob and so on. This time around, the DYAO family is taking a different approach. We have taken the healthy route. Everything that we prepared was approved by our nutritionist Rachel Beller. These are all things that we would eat in the house on a regular basis. From the grilled chicken, chicken kabobs and veggie burgers right down to the alcoholic beverages that we are serving. We are making a HUGE change and believe me it shows!!


Lee's pool workout was AWESOME!! The first thing I was thinking was, we are going to be in the pool, how bad can this possibly be?? Well I can tell you this much, as fun as it was, I was so tired when I got out of that pool all I wanted to do was take a nap. "The General" knows how to get down!!! And he just keeps giving us different tools to make sure that we succeed.

Everything that Rachel has shown us so far has been absolutely delicious. Some of the foods that she has taught us to prepare I eat on a regular basis, but I would prepare them in a way that was not healthy. The salad that Rachel showed us was so good I didn't want to stop eating, lol!! It is amazing the different foods you can add to a salad to make it interesting and still have it be healthy.

Pop is just a fun dance style. Having such an incredible partner like Sonny, I couldn't wait to see what he had in store for me this week. I was a little worried because he always comes up with some funky stuff for me to try. There were a few things such as the floor work, and the pop and lock that I was dreading, but with his help I managed to pull it off.

I think the story played out very well. It was so playful and fun that I couldn't help but enjoy it and have a great time. I love being on stage and performing, so when it's a style that I like and can do well, I think it shows. After all the hard work, time and effort that was put into the dance I think we looked great!!

I couldn't be happier about my weight loss this week. I haven't been below 215lbs in FOREVER, so I feel like I am giving it everything I have and then some. Last week I found myself at a point where my body was exhausted, and the one thing that I kept hearing in my head was, you have to keep pushing because on the other side there is something better. So I will keep pushing myself and in the end it will pay off. As far as my weekly weight loss, I know there will be some ups and downs. I wasn't happy with the amount that I had lost last week, but the way I look at it is that it might have just been 1.4lbs, but it was something. It was 1 pound more than I would have lost if I weren't trying at all!! Something is always better than nothing. So no matter what the number is, at the end of the day I just have to remember that I gave it 100% and I kept on fighting.
