Jumping Jacks for 3 minutes
This week, I will be meeting the cast for the first time and getting to see how deconditioned they are. More than likely, if they are here, they're probably in a bad state physically and mentally. I took this week to bring in some basic exercises to assess their status and get a chance to learn about them. So I began the first session off with 1 to 3 minutes of jumping jacks, a basic cardio exercise that you can do anywhere to get your whole body warmed up.
And wow! These guys are out of shape! Some could barely hang for 1 minute. We have some work to do. I do have to say though that I did like everyone's attitude for the most part. Everyone seemed ready to start making changes in their life to get healthy and had a pretty good outlook. Let's just hope this continues over the next 10 weeks.
