Valley Girl on episode 5: Shake It, Dont Break It
I really was feeling like I bit off more than I could chew. Hi All! So this week’s Check Up challenge was interesting—we couldn't use any electricity!! I had to bust out my braiding techniques (or lack thereof) and try to pull something together. Plus we had to be inspired by break-dancers, I thought it was a pretty difficult challenge. As I looked over at Fingaz and Minista, I felt a little out of my element. I know how to braid and I can do different types, but I can't do it as fast as they can. They were getting me nervous!
When it came to the Glam Slam challenge, I hated my piece! I was just so stumped on what to do and I really was feeling like I bit off more than I could chew. I wanted it to be funny but creative. It got difficult starting out. Then once I knew what I wanted to do, I didn't have enough time. A lot of my time was spent on making a foundation. Once I knew our models had to do 3 moves with the hairpiece on, I knew foundation was the key to success.
Then the worst happened. It felt bittersweet to be eliminated. Of course I wanted to win the $100,000 but I also wanted to beat Lexi. BAD. Now that the pressure is off, I can sit back and root for my competitors. I can't wait to see what they come up with!
I learned on this show that hairstyling is an art, a passion, and a life. It can be shown in so many different ways. During this show, I made friends and my head was filled with inspiration to go bigger and do better! Xo!
