Tsunami on episode 5: Shake It, Dont Break It
I have never made a guitar out of hair before. It feels great to be the only guy left in the competition! The Paul Mitchell School I went to was a new school and I was one of the first classes and was the first guy at the school, so I’m kind of used to it. I definitely miss Roo and J-Rok though—those guys were my boys. But this is a competition and it feels great have made it this far.
I was a little worried about the Check Up challenge because I’m not the strongest braider, but what better time to improve than now? lol. Braiding is definitely something I want to get stronger at, so with this challenge it made me have to get past my fear of braiding and just do it, especially going against Fingaz and Minista cause those girls can braid.
I felt great about my heavy metal-inspired hairstyle and loved the guitar I made, and at the same time learned things as I made it. I have never made a guitar out of hair before, but it was fun doing it and my model loved the look. So all in all I was pleased.
I wasn’t worried about my model having to do the 3 moves because I made sure I had a solid foundation and made sure to test out the 3 moves several times before going on stage.
I mean obviously it doesn’t feel good to be a “hair don’t” with the possibility of going home. But all in all I am happy with the work I did and if I go home, I will go knowing that I did my best and gave it my all, which is the way you should do everything in life. Never do things half-a**. If you’re gonna do something, do it and do it whole-heartedly.
