After running product development and marketing for a large software company (which was acquired by Thomson Reuters in 2008), Sarah founded Sprouter, which was one of the world’s first online community providing real-time advice to startups. The platform was acquired in 2011 and she went on to build BetaKit, a popular technology news site. After joining forces with talented business leaders from some of the world’s top companies like LEGO, Virgin and Starbucks, Sarah co-founded BrandProject, a firm actively investing in early-stage startups across a wide variety of industries.

Sarah is passionate about design and working on transformative ideas. She is a relentless advocate for youth entrepreneurship and is the Founder and CEO of Future Design School (FDS). FDS facilitates innovative curriculum and teacher training for schools looking to encourage entrepreneurship with their students. The organization is building a network of innovation-focused micro-schools across North America.

Sarah is an in-demand speaker who has delivered keynote speeches and sessions at prestigious events including South by Southwest, Big Omaha, GrowCo, Summit Series and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Sarah is an active advisor and investor in several companies as well as an esteemed board member for Communitech and VentureLAB. She is currently serving as Chairman of MasterCard’s Youth Entrepreneurship Board.

Sarah has been named one of the top entrepreneurs in North America by Inc Magazine and one of the “Top 20 Power Elite” by Canadian Business. She is frequently in the media and has been profiled by numerous prestigious publications including The Globe and Mail, Entrepreneur Magazine and The Wall Street Journal.
