Deitrick and Dominique see marriage counselor Dr. Thema Bryant-Davis as a proactive measure to keep their relationship strong on this week's episode, and the issue of men helping out in the house (or not!) came up. Dominique feels Deitrick doesn’t help enough, explaining: “If the baby is crying because I can’t get to her because I’m dealing with Destin, then [Deitrick] says ‘let the baby cry.’” Deitrick says he does help out some and he’s doing the best he can, and he wants a nanny to fill in the gaps. Dominique would prefer not to have a nanny.
The conversation heats up when Dominique says Deitrick won’t change “boo-boo diapers.” Deitrick’s response: “If I do any more I’ll be taking on her role, and I’m not a woman.” Deitrick sees a man’s role as primarily providing shelter and being a protector — and Dominique thinks Deitrick’s view is “from the 1950’s.” Who’s side are you on?
