When it comes to the wardrobe department, The Face is no ordinary TV show. This is true in part because its stylist is the legendary Patti Wilson, known for working with the world's biggest stars -- from Brad Pitt to Beyonce to Lady Gaga. But it's also true because Naomi Campbell is behind the show. According to Patti, some high fashion designers might have been apprehensive about doing reality TV, but Naomi "knows everyone and many of her friends wanted to support her." And in Naomi's case, "friends" include designers and brands like Versace, Alexander McQueen and Azzedine Alaïa.
In terms of fashion, this season will be similar to last. Expect outfits by a Who's Who of the fashion world, hot off the runways (literally). As Patti explained
after Season 1: "I wanted to keep the girls as fashion forward as possible, so most of the clothes worn were runway looks from the current season... Scheduling the looks was tricky, sometimes the clothes came in the morning of the shoot day and left back to Europe the same night." Speaking of looks, sneak peek a few from season 2 below.
The season 2 premiere of The Face opens with an impromptu catwalk in Bryant Park. The supermodel coaches look glamorous, elegant and maybe a little naughty in outfits that are heavy on black lace and bare skin. Naomi's outfit is all Italian: an Emilio Pucci sequin bra and a Giambattista Valli lace skirt. She's also sporting Pierre Hardy booties and Own glasses.
Anne V and Lydia Hearst stick with the black-lace-from-Italy theme. Anne is wearing a Dolce & Gabbana dress with Christian Louboutin Mary Jane heels while Lydia dons a Moschino long sleeve button up and Emilio Pucci black shorts with Saint Laurent studded heels.
Naomi sticks with black in an episode later in the season, but cranks up the elegance even higher with this full-length Versace dress that exudes sex appeal while still retaining a high degree of formality. Oscars material, right?
Another Versace for Naomi, this one way above the knee and beautifully bejeweled. We love how Naomi's Emilio Pucci boots nearly touch the dress to reveal just a sliver of bare thigh.
Anne V and Lydia are resplendent in outfits featuring ornate gold patterns that pop out and dazzle over black material. Anne's dress is Roberto Cavalli and her boots are by Christian Louboutin. Lydia is wearing a Pierre Balmain skirt and top with Own boots.
Other designers lined up for Season 2: Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Esteban Cortazar, Victoria Beckham, Fausto Puglisi, Rachel Zoe, T by Alexander Wang, and TON of Alaïa, and many others. Watch "The Face" and its fashion Wednesdays at 10/9c!
