- From Bambi Weavil: I live out loud by being a proud activist and CEO of Out Impact, my gay online magazine that focuses on making a positive impact in the gay community. We also raise awareness and partial proceeds for various non-profits around the county with our own produced events.
- Becky Altringer got into the business of being a PI not only to fulfill a long time desire to be a private investigator but to somehow fill a need to be the voice of those who have been wronged in life and feel helpless to fight for themselves. It is hard not to notice Becky in a crowd of people, when just her laugh is so contagious that it alone can make the most serious of person smile. It takes moments in conversation with Becky to feel her passion to correct the wrongs of the world and her never ending tenacity to get the job done. Her heart is as big as her laugh. While she can be a big kid at time, never let it be mistaken that her never-ending dedication to her job can be fierce at times. She jokes that she will never have much money in life since there is a bigger desire to be there for those who are crying out for help. It may be doing a car wash to raise money for a billboard to help locate a hit and run driver or helping one to find a lost relative. It is her creative mind that one can say they are blessed to have her on their side when in need of a PI and more than that, a friend.
- Chris Bledy tells her story about her remarkable journey from cancer to cured. I watched Chris battle her way to healing her body mind and spirit. Chris Bledy shows you what it takes to 'live out loud' and cure yourself. She came back from advanced ovarian cancer, to cancer free living. It has been 9 years now. She is an inspiration to all her meet her. She doesn't think twice when it comes to helping others who are scared and struggling with a life illness. It took a lot of courage for Chris to write her book in detail, for that entailed her to relive her battle with the darkness that made its appearance in her life. She wrote a winner.
- My sorority sister and dear friend Dana Turner is amazing woman that lives out loud! I met Dana college and was amazed at how despite the cards life has dealt her, she is still such a warm, kind, giving, passionate person! You see Dana has lupus and is tired 365 days a year. Not just a 'I think I need a nap' kind of tired, but more of a 'I feel like I'm dragging around cement blocks on my arms and ankles' type of tired. She also has periods of nausea daily, and migraine headaches several times a week. Often her symptoms are debilitating but still she doesn't talk about it. She just knows that everyday a wave of sickness is going to come over her. However despite not knowing when or where it will happen she is vigorously pursuing her dreams of being a writer and journalist. Dana Turner is a writer from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with a specialty in feature reporting, fiction and poetry. Her work has been featured in national and local publications, including Factio Magazine, a fashion and beauty emporium showcasing the world's most talented designers, beauty products, celebrity and CEO interviews, international fashion shows, high-end events, store openings, luxury products, galas and more. Writing for this magazine has taught Turner to know no limits or boundaries in writing, be culturally stimulated and bring true global fashion to her readers. Based in Chicago, Factio Magazine readers come from all over the world including, Canada, UK, Australia, Argentina, Brazil, France, Spain, Russia, and China.
- I nominate my best friend as someone who lives out loud. Her name is Deborah Shouse. She is a woman who lives by the starry triumvirate of courage, compassion and creativity. She is a breast cancer survivor and she is one of the few women I know who actually makes a living from writing. She writes essays, articles, nonfiction books and manuals for nonprofit organizations. She writes what needs to be written in the world.
- From Dorena Washington: I would like to nominate myself for living out loud. The reason I choose myself is because I feel there is a lack of recognition for what I do in my life. I am 27 years old and I graduated with my bachelors degree in 2004, concentrating in management. I am one who is very passionate about education and I am always creating ways of funding higher education. I believe that knowledge gives powers. In today's society, if you don't have college education...it's hard to get far in life career wise. I work in the education industry as in admissions counselor motivating individuals who came from the same background as me to pursue their college education. My job may sound easy but it is really hard. I am talking to people everyday who have limited resources, lack of knowledge, and stigmas that are holding them back. I talk to people who haven't completed high school and I am motivate them to start and complete college. I am very passionate about what I do. I want everybody to be given a chance to succeed. I have been spending 95% of my life helping others and I admit I neglect myself. I decided to create a home-based business to assist individuals with resumes, interviewing and professionals development to better their chances at finding a job. I also created a Why Education Award which will assisting college students with some of their financial obligations so they can focus on their studies. You can learn more about what I do at my website www.dorenaprofessionals.com. I am all about helping others and to me that is living out loud.
- It is my honor and pleasure to suggest Jane Glenn Haas for Oxygen's Live out Loud feature. Jane lives out loud in many more ways than one -- and puts her effort and money where her mouth is!! Jane is the founder of WomanSage, a non-profit membership organization dedicated to educating, empowering and fostering mentoring friendships among women at midlife.
- WomanSage has made a profound difference in my own life. In 2003, I left a 25 year career in corporate marketing to care for my aging parents. Last year I had to return to full-time work in order to pay for the high costs of assisted living. Many people told me I wouldn't have a chance of getting a decent job at the age of 56. Thanks to Jane and my new circle of friends at WomanSage who mentored me throughout my job search, I now have a great new position with a successful company here in Orange County, CA.
- My Sister's name Is Jarena Bates she lives in Saint Albans New York. She is one of the most loving, and caring people you can ever meet. Jarena was sick with kidney problems scene she was 14yrs old. She went in to kidney failure in 05/2007,Her wonderful fiance turned out to be a perfect match, and she received a kidney. It was a tough battle for her and her family. But you would have never thought for her. She was brave and bold them and she still is. I believe that my sister is an excellent candidate for this. Because she is one in a million up in till this day her and her fiance tries to convince more people about organ donation, and transplation.
- My mom lives out loud. Her name is Kimberly Duncan.
- My mother is the hardest working woman I've ever known, she is the mother of 7, grandma to 2, she takes care of my great grandma with Alzheimer's and works a full time job. She is the most generous person I know and would do anything for any one. Plus she puts those Bad girls to shame.
- From Leslie Rosenberg: In my opinion the greatest valentine you can ever receive, is the one you give yourself. It's love -- SELF LOVE. I mean, who really cares about what other people think?
- You're living your life for you- no one else! You have to be fearless, to live, to love with no limitations! I think your mind and your attitude have a tremendous influence over your life. I'm a survivor, a car crash survivor, a head injury survivor.
- I was in a car crash in 1979, and I died. I was in a coma for such a long time, the doctors talked about a long-term care facility for me. But I came back-- see, you can't get rid of me THAT easy, and I even consider that horrifically terrible accident to be one of the greatest things that ever happened to me.
- From M.J. Essenmacher: I live out loud !!! Sometimes I even scream out loud !! I am a soon to be 55 year old Women Business Owner. I started Creative Catering Corporation in 1985, and since then have found myself creating special events for our clients that often entails going over the top with creativity.
- I think my sister, Antoinette Ferdinardo Lives Out Loud. She has always been very independent, even as a small child. In her earlier years she was told that due to medical issues she would never be able to have any children, but at the age of 40 she had a beautiful baby girl. Although my sister suffers from various emotional issues that hinder her from employment, she makes ends meet with all she has. Never stopping to try and better her life and the life of her daughter. I have told her many times how I wish I could make money stretch like she does. I swear she can turn a nickel into a $5.00 bill. She is artistic with every pore of her soul, making art crafts of one kind or another to make extra money if she can. I have also attached a picture of a typical halloween costume she made her daughter. Her latest endeavor for the past 6 months is to move from her home in Illinois, which was our parents home and is falling down around her, to a new home that she hope to buy in Missouri. Talking to contractors, real estate and financial people with all the negativity of the marketplace at the moment will not get her down. She is driven, determined, extraordinary, opinionated, stubborn, creative and most of all loving to every living thing on earth.
- I would love to nominate my Mom. She was instrumental in helping to find her Dad's murderer, 35 years after it happened. She is an incredible person who helps others. She advocates for women and children., thinking of others first. She is my remarkable hero.
- Pam Boyd, Plano, TX, 55, is in pain here after finishing her first half-marathon. Always a non-athlete, at 54, she had never even ran a 5K! Since turning 50, while caring for a mother with Alzheimers, a dying sister, and a special needs nephew (along with her own three children), Pam has LIVED OUT LOUD, supporting herself as a contract trainer, speaking gratis for churches, organizations and business audiences about being fully aware, appreciative, and available. She has become a published author, written three screenplays and self-produced one of them, become a painter, an actress, and a tennis player. She has helped countless people along the way and in whatever she does, she sings it OUT LOUD "like it's the last song she will ever sing"!
- Nanette Noma is an amazing woman! She possesses a huge heart and is a strong woman! Men are attracted to her beauty, but they also want to 'break' her because of her tenacious personality! ... She's got courage, grace, and the ability to forgive even the worst of people! She's my best friend and her epitaph will read, 'Nanette walked where angels fear to tread and she lives life to its fullest!' (By the way, she's 52 years old and looks 35!!!!!!)
- After nursing my brother back to health after he was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer eight years ago, my amazing sister-in-law, Paula Dupre' Pesmen, quit the movie business (Former Assistant Producer of Harry Potter films, Mrs. Doubtfire, Home Alone, Stepmom, etc.) and started THERE WITH CARE, www.therewithcare.org! This non-profit organization supports children and families facing critical illness. There With Care's mission is to provide a range of practical service for children and families facing critical illness in order to ease the burden of life's day-to-day obligations during a medical crisis. In less than five years, in Boulder, Colorado, they have built strong relationships with local hospitals, business owners, professionals and community volunteers, who share in the care of over 100 entire families at a time during an extremely emotional, financial and physically challenging time.
- My girlfriend Rachel lives out loud. She came out to LA to be a filmmaker but success did not land in her lap... so she decided to make her own success. A true artist she has made over 50 short films and produces a short film each week on top of everything else that she does. I am amazed at the obstacles that she overcomes on a daily basis to get her vision out there.

- I am a 29 year old aspiring model, actress, and Scout residing in Shreveport Louisiana.. I was an army brat growing up, so I was and still am a LITTLE spoiled. I have always been a lover of people, but not much of a lover of myself. In 2007 God placed an angel in my life while I was volunteering at the behind the scene set of 'The Year Without A Santa Claus.' I started drinking at a young age, about 13 years old. I was always unsure of myself and abilities. I didn't make friends well, I was reserved most of the time. When I was drunk, I could be anyone I wanted at any given time. I began to drink on a daily basis. My life was falling apart. I had already lost custody of my only daughter, been in several behavioral centers and was becoming intolerable. Mrs. Tamara Davenport, an artist, dance instructor, photographer and much more. She not only took me into her home when I needed her, but she has shown me the love that God shows us all. She schooled me on my African queen ship and how special I truly am in God's eyes. A striving artist herself, she took time out for me and still does until this day when I need her. She volunteers at the local Art Space teaching art to inner city kids and is always available to anyone in need.On June 13th of 2008, I finally sought help for my addiction, because through her GOD showed me my true worth. Life much more clear today. Mrs Davenport is a blessing to all. Tamara is most deserving of recognition due to her constant involvement within the community and the life changing love that she gives so freely. I am so blessed to have her in my life. Thank you for sponsoring such an event, the need to recognize great women is a Necessity because who better to create greatness than someone who possesses it.
- Yvonne Pierre is not only a proud mom of a seven-year-old with Down syndrome, but she is a philanthropist by donating her time to empower families of special needs children and educate the public. In 2005, she launched a free online community called Have Ya Heard the Abilities of Downs to provide an outlet to promote books, film, art, and other works done by or for individuals with special needs. Later she renamed it simply HYH Online. Within the first six months, she had over 300 worldwide families of special needs children. She did not charge to promote their works; however, due to lack of funding, she had to put HYH Online on hold, but this did not stop her. Yvonne immediately produced and launhced HYH Radio and free on demand talk radio show called 'The Yvonne Pierre Show.' This is an inspirational and informative show with topics ranging from parents sharing their stories to entrepreneurial topics. The mission with the show is to reach the special needs community and abroad, topics range from parents sharing their journey, self-development, to entrepreneurial topics.
