Happy summertime everyone! With 4th of July celebrations just around the corner, here's my short list of summer BBQ essentials! From fashion to food, the options are endless when it comes to what to bring, wear or make for a BBQ. I hope this list gives you some good ideas!
1. The Catherine Malandrino Flag Dress
This dress has been worn by seemingly everyone and their mommas including Meryl Streep, Halle Berry (sleeveless version) and even Miss USA 2014, Nia Sanchez (pictured) a few weeks ago! It screams Americana and I can't think of a better occasion to wear this sophisticated patriotic frock than the good ol' 4th of July!
2. Stubb’s Hickory Bourbon BBQ Sauce
You haven’t lived until you've tried Stubb's BBQ sauce. In my humble opinion, it's hands down THE BEST BBQ sauce I've ever tasted. A month ago, for my husband's BBQ birthday party in Boston, I bought a couple of bottles of this on a whim (the ingredients were good and didn't contain gross high fructose corn syrup like most) -- and boy am I glad I did! From grilled veggies to the chicken I served, I put it on everything and it was a hit at the party. Finger lickin' good!
3. Mason Jars With Chevron or Striped Paper Straws
I've been using paper straws a lot lately when entertaining friends and family. They add a whimsical flair to any occasion and come in pretty much any color you need making it super easy to coordinate with your chosen theme. In this case it’s stars, stripes and RED, WHITE and BLUE! Make your favorite drink or cocktail for guests, perhaps my "Watermelon Delight," and serve it to guests in the casual mason jars and retro paper straws for a festive drink.
*Wanna get a little fancy with this summertime drink? Freeze some blueberries in ice cubes to serve with Susie's Watermelon Delight for a red, white and blue drink! You'll be the "host with the most." : )
What can I say? I'm a sucker for a good fireworks display and will brave the crowds on 4th of July for them. Just ask my hubby and he'll tell you that I'm always trying to drag him to see some fireworks, especially for our nations b-day. To me, nothing says "celebration" like the bursting of colorful awesomeness in the dark night's sky.
5. Charles by Charles David "Valley" Thong Sandle
I'm loving these sandals right now! They're comfy and will look awesome with everything in your closet. What more could you ask for? Add these to your Catherine Malandrino flag dress to complete your 4th of July look and show your friends how Patriotic style is done! Check them out here.
Have a safe 4th everyone and Happy Birthday America!
