It's a Wrap for New York Fashion Week!
From the paparazzi to the chic crowds to running into Vogue's legendary editor Anna Wintour, who looked fab in her signature big sunglasses as she marched off towards Vera Wang (I kept my distance, LOL), fashion week was amazing! First up was the StyleCaster.com event kicking off the second season of The Face, where I spoke to supermodel coaches Anne V and Lydia Hearst (pictured at right), who have a friendly competition going already. They are sweet girls, but there's certainly a fire in their eyes. While both look forward to mentoring their models, they each told me they hate to lose. I'm sure the Queen Naomi Campbell, returning from season 1, will have them sweating it out!
When I asked The Face host Nigel Barker who he thought was gonna win, he said: "Naomi, Lydia, and Anne are all winners and obviously competitive so you just never know." It's gonna be an awesome season 2 of The Face and I can't wait to watch! Oh, and here's a fall fashion tip: Lydia mentioned that one of her favorite fall trends is the over-the-knee boot. :)
In addition to The Face kickoff, I saw some AH-MAZING Spring/Summer 2014 collections. Throughout the week, I interviewed designers Pamella Roland, James and Mark of Badgley Mischka, Steven Alan, Michelle Smith of Milly and Brandon Sun. I can't wait for you to see all the backstage action from the tents at Lincoln Center! It's organized chaos back there before the runway shows start and it was a fun experience to be a fly on the wall and capture it all for you. You'll see all the footage soon on both Oxygen and Oxygen.com so check back to see all of the upcoming trends!
Last but not least, photographers and fashion bloggers kept stopping me to take photos of my outfits so I MUST give a shout out to my stylist, Tatiana Sotirou, and the lovely people at TheOutNet.com on a job well done. My outfits were well received at NYFW and I felt like a million bucks. When it comes to personal style and fashion, I think the most important thing is to feel confident and strong in what you're wearing so that you can "Live Out Loud." I certainly did!
