Q&A with the Guy with the Bat Face Tattoo: Apparently, Women Love It

We know you have some burning questions for John, the guy who got a tattoo of bats on his face on the Tattoos  After Dark premiere over his girlfriend's pleas. Fear not! We've answered all of them in the Q&A after the jump, and against all odds, he's got no regrets (though...he's single now). Click "more" for the full Q&A!

What made you want to get the bat face tattoo?

Well, I’ve always liked dark culture. I love everything dark. I’ve been in and out of the L.A. goth scene a long time, and I’ve always had a fascination with bats, and I’ve always wanted to get a tattoo on my face.

Did it hurt a lot?

Actually Justin is a really good artist. There was only one point when it burned a lot. Other than that, it was really one of my least painful tattoos.

How do you feel about it now?

I love it! I absolutely love it! Everyone calls me Mike Tyson. My job didn’t really have a big problem with it which I was surprised about. I already have my throat, my arms and my finger tattooed. I’ve got a tattoo on the back of my neck and sleeves. So, they were just waiting for the next one I think.

What do you do for a living?

I’m a commercial truck driver. I run and manage our shipping and receiving I’m up pretty late. I work 11 until about 1 am right now, so I guess I have about the same hours as a bat! I even have bats flying around my work at night.

Are you still with your girlfriend Bianca from the show?

Nope. After the show, I became single. The show actually gave me a window into her maturity level and opened my eyes to her true nature. Plus, I started realizing more things that annoyed me. Some other dramatic stuff happened too. That was it.

So, what’s it like being single with the new tattoo?

It hasn’t deterred me from meeting women at all! It’s a conversation opener. A lot of women touch my face, which is a good thing. They ask me why I got it. I say “Why not? Why wouldn’t I? It’s my face!” They’re more interested in talking to me now that I have the tattoo.

What does your family think?

My family has seen it. My grandmother just shakes her head. She’s used to me though. I grew up coloring my hair different colors. I have three kids, too. My son is all into batman, so he thought it was cool!

Any plans for future tattoos?

Well, I’m not gonna stop! I am looking to get my hands done next month.
