Naomi Campbell, Coco Rocha and Karolina Kurkova wear some pretty amazing pieces from very major designers (both established and up-and-coming) on "The Face." We're prepping for the show, which premieres on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 9/8C, by taking a look at the designer labels you'll be seeing on our gorgeous supermodel coaches. We've covered Naomi's friend Azzedine Alaïa, the very posh Victoria Beckham, it-designer Alexander Wang and my shoe obsession Nicholas Kirkwood. Still got shoes on the brain, so let's talk about Pierre Hardy.
Designer: Pierre Hardy
Who Actually Designs the Line: Pierre Hardy
As Seen on "The Face:" Karolina wears his cobalt and black elastic strappy sandals with cool sculptural tones-of-blue heels.
Backstory: Parisian-based Pierre Hardy launched his line with a women's collection in 1999 and made his name with his sexy, oft-colorful architectural designs that feature a unique mix of color, shape and texture. Obviously a hit with impossibly chic French women, the brand really made an impact in the U.S. with two collaborations with the Gap in 2010 and 2011. While he has two Paris storefronts, Hardy finally came Stateside when he opened a New York flagship in the decidedly-French-feeling West Village in 2010. He brought his signature chicness, even putting in leather floors so ladies (and dudes, he has an ultra-cool men's line, too) have a warm, luxurious surface to put their bare feet on while trying on loads of droolworthy shoes. Those French, so thoughtful.
Celebs who wear it: The fashion-forward set wears Pierre Hardy designs on the red carpet and off. His devotees include: Leighton Meester, Miranda Kerr (who skillfully wore her ankle strap heels while toting her baby, Flynn), Blake Lively, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rihanna and Usher.
