Hot Spring 2013 Accessory Trends You'll See On 'The Face'
Happy New Year everyone! Time to bust out the upcoming season's fun new trends—like, leather overalls, anyone? The stylists on "The Face" are on it, making sure that Karolina Kurkova, Coco Rocha and Naomi Campbell are outfitted in the most ahead of the game pieces out there, especially the accessories. But it goes without saying that each supermodel knows what's up, even bringing in forward-thinking pieces from their own closets. So let's take a look at what accessories you'll be wearing this Spring, as already seen on our girls.
Go bananas with your jewelry this season with intensly-hued gemstones, precious metals, intricate details and colossal statement pieces that call jet-setting, wanderlusting free spirits to mind. For daytime, go with Naomi's layers of boho-opulent bracelets paired with ethnic-inspired amulet necklaces.
For evening, try to one-up a gold brocade evening gown with a boldly luxurious statement set. It actually works, just look at Coco. You can never have too much.
Or wear tons glimmering colorful gemstones anytime of the day. Take a cue from Naomi's bejeweled Lorraine Schwartz necklace that dresses up a basic black tank.
Crazy sunnies were all over the Street Style snaps during the Fashion Weeks around the world last September (meaning the Spring 2013 runways) and you'll be wanting inspired shades like Karolina's two-toned oversized ones by Linda Farrow. KK's styles are actually on the conservative side considering the bedazzled-out, Kool Aid-hued, cartoon-inspired ones we've seen so far.
Can't say we're not ecstatic about this one: Stacked heels are back. So you get the stiletto's height, but with stability. Plus, the chunkier stem allows for fun color play, for instance, the black and white contrasting (which is major for Spring, too) worn by a special "The Face" guest above, plus creative embellishments, like, Coco's Jean Paul Gaultier gold-plated Mary Janes, below.
Gold Standard Shoes
Speaking of gold and shoes—gold and slimmering metallics are huge for heels in the upcoming season. Get your gilded fix in any way, shape or form, like KK's golden python heels by Jean Michel Cazabat. Or Coco's more pewtery Monika Chiang ankle-strap heels waiting below.
And to finish off the trifecta of shoe trends, there's also the clear factor. Be it clear panels like Karolina's own color-blocked platforms above, lucite heels or crystal embellishments, transparent detail is maje for the season.
We'll be seeing lots of chain linkage when it comes to jewelry this season. We'll put the Lorraine Schwartz pavé diamond encrusted variegated link bracelet like Naomi's above on our wish list. (The supermodel must be on the jeweler's frequent shopper list, huh?)
Karolina's chunky gold design is a versatile every day piece.
While ladylike structured satchels aren't going anywhere anytime soon, the very versatile tote bag will be joining the ranks of the must-have section. (Although did it ever leave?) This is fantastic news because it's really hard to fit my laptop, makeup pouch, sunglasses and goodness knows what else into my Mulberry Alexa. And the tote can be worn so many ways—check out how Nigel Barker is workin' it.
Get creative with your belts for the upcoming season (oh, what the what, start it now.) Like Karolina cinched this printed Francesco Scognamiglio dress with her own corset belt.
Naomi ups ante on corset belts with a wide mixed-texture Azzedine Alaïa design—to complement her all Alaïa outfit, naturally.
And think outside of the box. Coco's croc belt above is actually a leather wrap cuff by Hoorsenbuhs.
