I've had the chance to spend time on the set of "The Face," premiering in February on Oxygen. There’s not a lot I can reveal right now, except it’s like “America’s Next Top Model” meets "The Voice" and is hosted by Nigel Barker. Thankfully, however, I can spoil all in regard to the show's clothes and accessories. And I’m happy to say "The Face" is no ordinary reality show when it comes to the wardrobe department. Let us get to the nitty gritty, starting with Naomi Campbell.
In episode 1, Queen Naomi sports a woven bolero jacket, top, skirt and shoes by Azzedine Alaia. Not only has Alaia dressed celebs for decades (from Madonna to Lady Gaga to Michelle Obama), he is known as a longtime personal friend and father figure to Naomi. Surely the show’s legendary stylist, Patti Wilson, took this into account while selecting the outfit.
Naomi's beautiful bracelet is by Hari Jewels. I’m guessing the elephant is not a random touch. She's the biggest thing in the room, can't go unnoticed.
While Naomi’s bolero gives her an international vibe, Karolina Kurkova is all business woman. She’s wearing Victoria Beckham, the celeb designer who’s made fans out of Hollywood A-listers like Cameron Diaz and Gwyneth Paltrow. Paired with Manolo Blahnik silver pumps, her bold orange and blue geometrically-shaped dress looks like a power suit — but the red tie here has been replaced by red lipstick, knocking the sex appeal out of the park.
As for Coco Rocha, she exudes punk-chic in her Mao PR black mesh tee, exotic green Roberto Cavalli skirt and Own boots.
Relatively edgy stars like Kristen Stewart and Rihanna are known to have an affinity for Cavalli. And what is Coco if not edgy?
