Samuel on The Glee Project 103
This video didn’t even feel like it was about us. It felt more like it was meant to be something for kids to lean on and turn to.I was pretty excited about this week’s theme because I immediately starting imagining all of the vulnerable-type tunes that we could sing. I love soft, emotional, vulnerable music. It touches me and really makes me think. I love to sing that type of music, so I was thrilled.
This week’s shoot was very different from the past two weeks because it wasn’t about being out there and showing off so much as it was about feeling something. This video didn’t even feel like it was about us. It felt more like it was meant to be something for kids to lean on and turn to. I know I wasn’t always thinking about myself during the filming.

The hardest part about this week was just opening up and being honest, really letting my guard down to connect the best I could. Seeing everyone open up and be emotional was hard, but it was very beautiful. It was hard to walk around with a “rejected” sign on me. It was awkward and I was letting my mind go to places it hasn’t been to for a while. I was thinking about the past and just focusing on it. This week I learned that it’s okay to look back and wonder, to want things you didn’t get. But it’s okay, because it shows you who you used to be and where you are now.

It was really sad to see Emily go because I really got to know her these past three weeks. There’s more to her than just what she shows people and I know she has a lot of love in her to share.
