I bought my race bike without consulting with T because she would probably give me a hard time for buying it. She would have thought I was jumping into a new sport too quickly and getting my own equipment. She would have wanted me to do it for a year to see if it was something I was really passionate about. Well, I'm glad I did. I am super passionate about this sport and it is something I'm going to do for a long time. It's really nice to have two incomes. Since we have three children it nice to feel you have some financial security for them. At the same time it's scary. Our business is very fickle and work can dry up as quickly as it presents itself. We both always try to find the next project, even when we're in the middle of 2 or 3 others.Although Tori and I have talked about dirty Skyping, we haven't followed through on it. We thought we'd save the naughty Skype for the next time we're apart. As an added bonus, I can see T even better now! Getting laser eye surgery was the best thing I ever did. I no longer need glasses to see my beautiful wife and children!!! No matter who you are, or what you do, its difficult being away from your family for any period of time. I really had a hard time in Calgary. My wife and my children are my biggest support system. Without them I'm lost. They define who and what I am. When I'm without them I'm a mess. I found it really hard to concentrate or find the confidence I needed to do what I had to do. Thank god for Skype!!!I was really sad that I missed T's Winter Wonderland party. She throws the best parties, plus it was Stella's first time seeing snow, and I missed it. It was a really special occasion as it was for the Ronald MacDonald house charity, and it was homage to Tori's dad's Christmas Wonderland that he created for her when she was young. More to come. Dean.
