It's been years since we've last visited the world of Heroes but we're revisiting our favorite ultra-powerful vigilantes when Heroes Reborn debuts on NBC on Sept. 24 at 8/7c. While superheroes might not be real in our world, sometimes celebrities step their game up and work towards saving lives, too. Now, we're honoring five stars who have are just as cool as any caped crusader.
Miley isn't exactly running in to burning buildings to save orphans, but her newly founded Happy Hippie organization is working towards providing care and shelter for LGBT homeless youths. Miley also singlehandedly raised more than $60,000 for amfAR in just one night by auctioning off paintings she made of various celebrities.
Earlier this month, The Rock adopted two French bulldogs named Brutus and Hobbs. While one of them took to water like a fish, the other ended up sinking like a brick. Luckily, canine savior Dwayne Johnson used his superhuman reflexes to dive in and save the poor pup.
Being a hero is as much about breaking up ass-kicking as it is about kicking ass. So when Ryan Gosling interrupted a street fight in New York City, we were all ready to sing his praises. Who needs cops when you have the Baby Goose? A year later, Ryan would again be hailed as a hero after saving a journalist from almost being hit by a taxi.
Han Solo may have saved the galaxy, but Harrison Ford has also done his part for the forces of good by joining a search party and finding a missing Boy Scout. Another time, Ford helicoptered a stranded hiker off a mountain. He may not believe in The Force, but someone should make this man an honorary Jedi.
Sci-fi starlet Zoe Saldana's roles in Star Trek and Avatar gave her superhero street cred, but in real life she's just as brave and bold. In 2012, after witnessing a car crash Saldana rushed to the elderly victim's aid and made sure she got medical attention.
