Jay's latest was full of big surprises for fans — the rapper got super candid about his relationship with Beyonce, even admitting to cheating on her (more or less), and called out his former friend Kanye West for being "insane." As far as the album itself goes? 50 isn't feeling it, Variety reports.
"I thought the sh*t was aight, you know what I'm sayin'? I liked the sh*t," he said in a video that's since been deleted. "But I'mma keep it 100: The sh*t was a little, the sh*t was too smart. I felt like I was supposed to be wearing glasses and sh*t, and tie a f*cking sweater around my waist. It was like Ivy League sh*t."
It's not every day you hear someone using the description "too smart" as a bad thing, but 50 went on to explain his views a little more.
"I'mma tell you the truth: N*ggas hot out there. They don't wanna hear that sh*t. They just wanna have a good time. F*ck that. You can't be the best rapper at 47, because the new n*ggas is here," he continued, adding, "I ain't gon' hold you up. Some of that sh*t was like golf course music."
