Absolutely No One Asked For CBS' 'Rush Hour' Reboot
Is nothing sacred?
It may be more popular than ever to remake '90s faves, but no one—absolutely no one—asked for a Rush Hour reboot. The iconic '90s movies starring Chris Tucker as a loud-mouthed cop and Jackie Chan as his straight-laced partner is currently being remade as a TV series, and we all have CBS to thank.
The buddy cop sitcom will star Justin Hires and Jon Foo. What, you thought Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker would reprise their roles? While most would agree that there's no Rush Hour without Jackie and Chris (and their undeniable comedic chemistry), CBS isn't letting a little thing like that stop them. The show will premiere on March 31, but if you can't wait that long, you can check out a sneak peek of the series below.
Nothing against the actors (their only crime is that they're not Jackie or Chris), but it's like watching the Rush Hour movies reflected in a fun house mirror if fun house mirrors had the power to suck out all the funny. Still, I guess we should just be thankful - it could've been a lot worse. At least Kevin Hart isn't in it.
