Angela Bassett Launches Skincare For Darker Skin
Would you buy Angela Bassett's makeup?
Makeup color palettes always lean towards the lighter side, with few quality options available for dark-skinned people. Actress Angela Bassett saw the void and took action.
Teaming up with Dr. Barbara Sturm, the duo is adapting a pre-existing method of treatment for those further from pink on the skin-tone spectrum. The five item line, called Darker Skin Tones by Dr. Barbara Sturm, will include a foam cleanser, enzyme cleanser, face cream, 50 ml face cream rich, and a hyaluronic serum. Each item is scientifically tailored for dark-skinned individuals.
More specifically: The new line is "said to target inflammation, unevenness of the skin, and hyper-pigmentation. Purslane, one of the key ingredients throughout the entire line, is said to also target anti-aging in a major way with the help of a youth enzyme." Sure, why not!
“I like [our customers] to be pleased when they look in the mirror, to feel good about themselves and the condition of their complexion,” said Bassett to WWD.
The products will be released in July exclusively at Harrods in-store and online.
