Ariana Grande Sticks Up For Kesha During Radio Interview
"I don't think a male artist would be in the same position right now."
It's a beautiful thing when women in difficult industries stick up for each other. Kesha has been going through hell during her legal battle with producer (and accused rapist) Dr. Luke, but celebs like Lady Gaga and Adele have stood in support with the singer. Taylor Swift even donated $250,000 to help cover Kesha's legal fees.
Now Ariana Grande is speaking out in support of Kesha. During an interview on 97.1 AMP Radio, Ariana broached the topic with host Carson Daly.
"I love Kesha. I worked with her when I was a lot younger. We've been friends. I support her regardless of what is going on," Ariana said.
"The incredible double standards that we [women] face on a daily basis, in the industry and just in the world - it's shocking," she continued. "I would be so amused, and pardon me if this comes across as sexist, but I don't think a male artist would be in the same position right now. Sorry."
Ariana previously supported Kesha via social media, posting a show of support for the "Tik Tok" singer on Twitter.
