Celebs Say Goodbye To Bowie On Social Media

Madonna, Kanye West, and Questlove are just some of the famous names who paid tribute to Bowie via Twitter. 

After a grueling battle with cancer, David Bowie passed away yesterday at the age of 69. His son, Duncan Jones, confirmed the sad news via Twitter early this morning, writing "Very sorry and sad to say it's true." Bowie released his 25th studio album, “Backstar,” on Friday, two days before his death. His producer said the album was timed to be “his parting gift.” Celebs have taken to social media to share their thoughts in remembrance of one of the greatest artists of our generation.

1. Madonna

The material girl was devastated, calling Bowie a genius and a game changer. She later posted a throwback photo of herself with the man who fell to Earth, writing “So lucky to have met you! Hot Tramp I love you so!”

2. Kanye West

Kanye called Bowie one of the most important inspirations in his life.

4. Ava Duvernay

Ava DuVernay shared this beautiful photo of Bowie with wife of 24 years, Iman. "One of the greats. Thank you," she wrote.
