Deadbeat Dad Fetty Wap Puts His "Pride Aside" And Sees His Daughter To Stop Internet Beef

Masika Kalysha recently said the rapper hadn't seen his 6-month-old newborn since she was 10 days old.

In "things that are strange," the internet is praising Fetty Wap today for finally stepping up to act like a dad -- but come now, the man doesn't deserve a parade.

For review: Fetty Wap and his baby mother Masika Kalysha (of Love & Hip Hop Hollywood) have been having it out for some time. From the beginning of her pregnancy, he downplayed their relationship and even demanded a paternity test. Even worse, he accused Masika of seeking him out and pre-planning the pregnancy, saying in an interview with The Shade Room“I wasn’t just no random dude in the club. You know what I’m saying’? She knew I was gon’ be there... Congratulations to her and whoever is the [father].”

As you can imagine, that didn't go over too well. That is, up until the paternity results were final: Fetty Wap, you are the father! Everyone thought that things had calmed down and were on a good path when he showed up during the birth and took the cutest photos with Masika and the newborn baby girl.

I can't believe our little princess is already 1 month old today. Happy 1 month baby ☺️❤️

But, oh, how the tides turn! Three months ago the two took to Twitter for a public spat about Fetty's inability to visit his newborn - complete with screenshots. Not too long ago, Masika revealed that Fetty Wap hadn't been to see his daughter since she was about 10 days old—she's now nearly six months and counting. That's nearly her whole life.

Welp! Now the internet is sky-high about praising Fetty Wap after he posted this photo to Instagram, with the caption "Had to put my pride aside... <3":

Apparently he and Masika are on good terms now, too:

We finally get to see #FettyWap and #Masika's daughter! She's gorgeous!

Here's to hoping this isn't just another appear act before the disappearance. Glad to see that he's up to his fatherly duty for his newborn... but really, can we stop praising men over the bare minimum?
