One-Direction-member-turned-broody-solo-artist Zayn Malik is catching his fair share of heat after sharing a preview of the art for his upcoming album, which looks remarkably similar to an album cover Lil Wayne released back in 2011.

Looks familiar right? Any hip hop fan will recognize the similarities between what Zayn posted and the cover art for Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV. And just in case you need a reminder:
Zayn staunchly denies taking any inspiration from Weezy, and hopped on Twitter to defend himself and his art.
Look, no one is saying Lil Wayne invented baby photos, but come on now. Using a photo of yourself as a kid and adding tattoos? You can't deny that Weezy did it first.
But hey, maybe Zayn is right, and the hordes of fans on Twitter calling him out just "don't understand" him or his art.
