It’s Diddy to the rescue in Flint! The water crisis in Michigan has moved the superstar into action. Diddy and business buddy Mark Wahlberg are donating one million water bottles to residents of Flint.
According to TMZ, the two men are tapping into AQUAhydrate, a bottled water company they own, and sending 5,000 cases this week. The company has promised to send more water until the issue of contamination is fixed. The rapper and actor joined forces in 2013 to become investors in AQUAhydrate.
According to the Detroit Free Press, the city of Flint is really hurting. Its 99,000 residents have been advised to drink bottled water or use filters after discovering their water was tainted. The water became contaminated with lead in April 2014, after the city started pulling in water from the Flint River. Companies including Coke and Pepsi are also sending water to Flint.
Whether he’s selling premium vodka or his own music channel, it’s no secret that Diddy is a great businessman. It’s nice to see this generous side of the mogul when a city is in need.
