Here's Why Kim Kardashian Didn't Invite Her Surrogate To Her Baby Shower

She says it was a "weird decision" to have to make.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have their hands full preparing for the upcoming birth of their new baby girl.

The couple, whose third child is being carried via a surrogate, celebrated the growth of their family with a pink-filled baby shower on Saturday, and while Kim's family and friends were in attendance, Kim's surrogate was not.

The reality TV star explained during a visit to The Real on Thursday that she ultimately chose not to invite her surrogate to the shower, E! News reports, because she had not yet had a conversation about surrogacy with her two children, four-year-old North and Saint, who turns two next month.

"I, um, I did not [invite the surrogate]," Kim explained. "I did introduce her to my family. I introduced her to my family earlier that day. And, you know, I just thought, I don't know, it was like a weird decision to have to make."

"Of course, I would've wanted her to be there and be a part of it, but I hadn't really gone that far in explaining it to my kids yet," she continued. "So I have to figure that out first before they really see and then if we're celebrating, you know, her, I just want to celebrate the baby. I think I have to explain it to my kids first and figure out how I'm going to explain it to them."

Kim has nothing but love for the woman carrying her child, explaining, "I love her. I have the best relationship with my surrogate. She's so nice. She is the perfect person to do this for my family. She's great. She's been amazing."

Kim also revealed that her surrogate did not know at the beginning of the process that the baby she'd be carrying would be Kim and Kanye's, but was "really excited" when she found out.

"She was, you know, someone that had watched the show, not like a superfan or anything, that it would have been uncomfortable, but she had seen my struggle and seen how open I was about it," Kim said. "So she was really proud to do it and really excited."

So far, Kim is the only KarJenner sister to officially confirm news that she's expecting; Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner are both rumored to be giving birth in early 2018, but neither of them have directly addressed pregnancy rumors.
