Earlier this week, Leslie Jones was disgustingly robbed of her privacy when hackers took over her personal website, leaked nudes, and riddled it with racist and sexist imagery. Since then, celebrities from Katy Perry to Octavia Spencer have come out in defense and in support of the comedienne—but now she has none greater ally than the Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton.
Yesterday, between a series of critical tweets against the Republican Donald Trump campaign, Clinton tweeted this directly to Jones herself: "no one deserves this—least of all someone who brings us so much joy. I'm with you. -H"
Not only is the show of support an important one for someone who is leveraging with the power of feminism, but the tweets before and after that one seem to point towards an actual culprit.
"Trump says he wants to 'make America great again,' but his real message remains 'make America hate again,'" reads the first.
"Trump is reinforcing harmful stereotypes and offering a dog whistle to his most hateful supporters," she tweeted.
"Trump retweets white supremacists. He took a fringe bigot and spread his message to 11 million people," she wrote in another.
The timing of this takedown and her support of Leslie Jones is pretty clearly orchestrated.
I bet those hackers won't dare target her for it, though. Good for you, Hillary. #IGuessImWithHer.
