Hungry Woman Raises Nearly $500 For Tacos On GoFundMe
Talk about #goals.
Meet your new hero: Rachel Hirsh, a musician from Raleigh, North Carolina. Hirsh's plight is one that many of us can relate to: being hungry with no money to buy the food we so desperately crave. Rather than do what the rest of us do (find something in the fridge or go to a friend's house for dinner), Hirsh decided to get creative and start a GoFundMe campaign to fund her next meal.
"I really want to get tacos on Friday. But like, really good ones, and a lot of them," she posted on her GoFundMe page. "Maybe from Fiction Kitchen or Chubby's."
Over the course of 5 days, the "Help Rachel Get Tacos" campaign has raised $450. But if you really think she's about to drop that many hundreds on some tacos, think again. Hirsh posted an update informing donaters that the money will go to a good cause.
"I am not going to use all of this money for tacos on April 22nd," Hirsh wrote. "100% of funds contributed to this campaign will be donated to Girls Rock NC, an organization that empowers girls, women, and folks of marginalized genders, through creative expression, to be confident members of their communities."
So no tacos at all then? Check out Hirsh's original PSA below.
