The two rap icons reportedly had a falling out earlier this year, with Kanye leaving Jay's streaming service Tidal. There was even talk of pending lawsuits for a while, and Jay took a few shots at Kanye on his latest album, going so far as to call him "insane."
That may all be water under the bridge now, though. Jay is currently on his his 4:44 tour, and during a stop in Chicago on Wednesday night, gave Kanye a shout-out, Vibe reports.
“Shout out Kanye West. Peace and love," Jay said, shortly after performing Kanye's "Can't Tell Me Nothing."
During his recent interview with The New York Times, Jay opened up a little about his complicated relationship with 'Ye, explaining, "I love Kanye. I do. It's a complicated relationship with us."
"Kanye came into this business on my label. So I've always been like his big brother. And we're both entertainers," he continued. "There's always been a little underlying competition with your big brother. And we both love and respect each other's art, too. So it's like, we both — everyone wants to be the greatest in the world. And then there's like a lot of other factors that play in it. But it's gonna, we gonna always be good."
