Kanye West Calls Out Lady Gaga & Threatens To Boycott The Grammys For Frank Ocean
Kanye is not playing around-- he wants 'Blonde' to get its due!
Kanye West is a known music-lover. So, it's no surprise that - like the rest of us - he impatiently waited and then played the hell out of Frank Ocean's latest musical release Blonde. Now that we're all mourning the lack of Grammys for the album (since no one from his camp nominated it) Kanye is taking it a step further: a boycott.
While on his Saint Pablo tour in Oakland, Kanye took some time during one of his anticipated rants to send love to his "brother" Frank Ocean and to spill some tea on Lady Gaga.
"I don't know if any of yall remember - I was supposed to go on tour with [Lady] Gaga," Kanye said, "about six to seven years ago... And it was something when she was nominated. She wasn't nominated for Best New Artist, right? But they wanted her to perform on the show. They wanted her to open."
"The Grammys secretly changed something about the nominations in order to nominate her, in order for her to perform at the show," Kanye revealed. "Now, Frank Ocean, on the other end, is very vocal that his album wasn't nominated for the Grammys. And since it's vocal, no one wants to say nothing about it. No one wants to do nothing about it. And I'm saying this to yall, because a lot of people-- they always try to make it seem like I'm so self-centered, but... the album I listen to most is Frank Ocean's album."
"And I tell you what-- I tell you this right now," he continued. "If his album is not nominated in no categories, I'm not showing up to the Grammys. As artists, we got to come together to fight the bullsh*t they've been doing to us for years. All we need is a fair shot, you know what I'm saying?"
It sounds like Kanye's ready to pull another Kanye-- and I'm not mad at him!
We're all just waiting for Ocean to put out a press release... which he never does. FOL.
Oh, Kanye had more amazing things to say about Ocean, and why he's tired of people who try to diminish his work. "I'm not crazy, I'm brave!" For more classic Kanye, watch the video in full below.
