Katy Perry is the latest celeb to say something stupid on social media. First Lil Mama made a transphobic joke (and stood behind it), and now Perry is under fire for making an off-color comment on Instagram.
While addressing her fans during an Instagram Live session on Saturday, Perry compared dying her black hair blond to Barack Obama being succeeded by Donald Trump. Or something. Honestly, people aren't even sure what the joke was supposed to be.
"Aww, someone says, 'I miss your old, black hair,'" Perry said. "Oh really? Do you miss Barack Obama as well? Oh, okay. Times change. Bye. See you guys later."
She then starts giggling with a friend in the car before announcing, "I should leave now."
The backlash was swift, y'all. Twitter wasted no time going in on Perry for her comments.
It gets even worse, though: Mano, a producer for The Weeknd, called Perry out for calling him the n-word back in 2013, saying that she used the word casually and didn't want to stop using it to refer to Mano and his friends. The producer says he spoke up about it back in 2013 but no one was trying to hear him.
