Kelly Clarkson Was Allegedly Blackmailed Into Working With Dr. Luke
"When you have that poor a character that so many artists don't like you, that's not normal.”
As Kesha bravely fights against Sony and her alleged abuser Dr. Luke to regain control of her life, Kelly Clarkson reveals that she was subject to some shady practices behind-the-scenes which essentially forced her into working with the supposed victimizer.
When news of Kesha's legal battles originally broke, Kelly Clarkson tweeted the following cryptic message:
It seems the singer is now more willing to talk. In an interview with Australia's KIIS FM, Clarkson revealed some details of her experiences with Luke:
“The last time I worked with him I only worked with him because literally I got blackmailed by my label,” she said. “It was a really hard time for me, they were like, ‘We will not put your label out if you don't do this.' We have a whole [touring] crew to support...people that depend on us for their livelihood so sometimes you have to make decisions that you just have to swallow that pill.”
She continued: “We've clashed before... He's difficult to work with, he's kind of demeaning. Unfortunately when you have that poor a character that so many artists don't like you, that's not normal.”
Dr. Luke was behind some of Clarkson's biggest hits, including "Since U Been Gone" and "Behind These Hazel Eyes."
