It's been a dramatic month for the Kardashian/Jenner clan. Both Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner have been accused of stealing ideas for their clothing lines, and shortly after announcing the upcoming release of her new beauty line KKW Beauty, Kim Kardashian was blasted for seemingly wearing blackface in one of the promo photos.
In the offending pic, Kim's skin does look pretty bronze. Is it blackface? A combo of lighting and Photoshop? During an interview with The New York Times earlier this week, Kim addressed all the controversy.
"I would obviously never want to offend anyone," she explained. "I used an amazing photographer and a team of people. I was really tan when we shot the images, and it might be that the contrast was off. But I showed the image to many people, to many in the business. No one brought that to our attention. No one mentioned it."
"Of course, I have the utmost respect for why people might feel the way they did," she continued. "But we made the necessary changes to that photo and the rest of the photos. We saw the problem, and we adapted and changed right away. Definitely I have learned from it."
Are you satisfied with Kim's explanation? If nothing else, she's at least one step ahead of her sisters because she actually responded publicly to all the criticism. Just saying!
