In a deleted scene from last week’s episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kris Jenner pretty casually dropped a hilarious tidbit about her evolving identity. That whole family spends most of its time being driven around in luxury cars, so the scene takes place in the back of one as Kris and Khloé make idle conversation about how Kris wants to get “a scriber.” That’s someone who follows you around and records everything you say, which is something she says she absolutely needs even though she is being followed by a camera crew around the clock. She also calls it a total “Kanye West move,” which is kind of true.
Khloé then asks about ordering from restaurant Casa Vega, and Kris says she just calls them up and says, “Hi, this is Kris Kardashian.” Uh oh.
Khloé does not like that her mother is using her former name, and she likes it even less that Kris states she’s planning to change it legally. Kris says defensively, “I was that before you were that. I was the original Kardashian.”
You know, people like to make fun of Kris Jenner for wanting to be one of her daughters, and this conversation completely justifies that, honestly.
Khloé gets even more annoyed by Kris's justification and asks her how her two daughters Kendall and Kylie will feel about their mom forsaking their shared name. This is when Kris rudely misgenders Caitlin Jenner, and says, “If Bruce can change his names to Caitlin I think I’m good.”
I do agree that her kids probably don’t care that much if they don’t share the same name, and frankly it would be a lot easier to keep calling the whole family The Kardashians. Also, it's her damn name! She could call herself The PR Agent Formerly Known As Kris for all I care, as long as she is as polite about other people's identities. Like her ex-husband's.
